Summary

Raised in Switzerland, René Fluri left home in 1958 in search of adventure on the open road. He wound up at a small bakery in Vancouver that would become arguably the most successful independent bread company in Canada, making hamburger buns for McDonald’s by the tens of thousands. This is the story of how René launched his career as a pastry expert and grew Gizella Pastry Ltd. into a prominent name in baked goods. Flour power!
